What Is PLR?
PLR is an abbreviation for Private Label Rights. When we refer to PLR, we're talking about a product that is written by an individual who has the intent to resell it to more than one buyer. Once the product is sold, the public label rights are then transferred to the buyer along with a license granting permission to reuse the product according to the terms listed on the license.
Buying a private label rights product doesn't automatically grant you the freedom to do whatever you want with it. Keep this in mind before you buy any PLR content. Always learn what you can or cannot do with the product BEFORE you purchase it.
Different Sellers, Different Terms
Not all public label rights products offer the same terms of use. Some PLR licenses allow you to resell the products as your own creations, but this isn't always the case.
- If you're looking for a product that allows you to place your name on it as the author, and resell it as your own product, you'll want to search for unconditional PLR. That is, PLR without restrictions on how you can reuse it. This type of license generally gives you total freedom to edit the contents in any manner you like.
- If you're looking for a product that allows you to resell it, you'll want to search for PLR with resell rights. That is, PLR that allows you to resell the package to other buyers.
- If you're looking for a product that allows you to resell it and also resell the permission for your buyer to sell it, you'll want to search for PLR with master resell rights. That is, PLR that allows you to sell the package and also allows your buyers to resell it.
As you can see, resell rights and master resell rights are limited in how you can use them. While you cannot edit the product or claim ownership-these products allow you to gain immediate access to a package that you can sell for a profit. On the other hand, when you buy unconditional PLR, you're buying the right to alter the contents, add your name as the author, and claim ownership of the product. You can also choose to sell it "as is" if that's what you want to do.
The point is that PLR products are great to acquire-especially if you're searching for a complete in-demand package to sell; yet, you don't have the necessary time or skills to create a product from scratch. Simply look for PLR content that offers a license granting you permission to edit the contents and add your name as the author, and you're getting the best PLR that money can buy!
